National Data Exchange - Need of Time
As we know that data is new oil in the 21st century, there is a strong need to establish entities like National Data Exchange(NDE) where various data generating or capturing data vendors register themselves just like regular companies in NSE(National Stock Exchange) and which are guided, monitored and regulated by a central regulatory authority (like SEBI - Securities and Exchange Board of India ) for data quality, authenticity, privacy, availability, quality of service, service level agreements, etc. .along with a common data syntactic, ontological and semantics standards enforcement. Something like DEBI(Data Exchange Board of India) . A strong and healthy data publishing ecosystem across the country can support better living standards for the citizens coupled with a new kind of economical activity domain. There is a need for Data Valuation Agencies(DVA) that assess the value of data published by various data companies based on the relevance of that data for other organizations
